Garlic Scapes 2lbs

Garlic scapes are the flower stalk of hard neck garlic. Approximately one month prior to harvesting garlic the scapes are removed from the plant which allows the plant to use its energy to make bigger bulbs. If the scapes are not removed they can be left on the plant to flower similar to other alliums such as onions and chives.  

Garlic scapes are completely edible and have a mild garlic flavour. They can be eaten like a bean, used in many recipes and are also great for storing.
